New favorite icon

So, Squirrelsville just had an earthquake.

It was about 11:30 and I was innocently chatting with [info]delzworf about how the oral surgeon apparently mistook me for a sixty-seven year old man when my house started shaking. It's wasn't violent enough to knock objects over, but the overhead lights on the fan were shaking enough to create a strobe light effect and my desk chair was moving around. My brother in the next room hopped out of bed and exclaimed, "Cool! It's an earthquake!"

After checking to make sure the other sibs were still asleep, we ran downstairs and woke up Mom and Dad. Mom called the sheriff ("This is going to sound strange, but has anyone else called in to report that their house is shaking?") and verified that the shaking was indeed an earthquake. Heh.

I can't say I've ever been involved in an earthquake, although I've been through tons of drills. :))

By the way, did you ever send me that fic you wanted me to look at? I never got it, if you did send it. :-P
